News letter Dated Feb. 19th, 2010
Members,
I would like to remind any member who has not yet renewed their 2010 membership that you need to do so by Feb. 28, 2010 in order to avoid a $15 late fee. This is so I may prepare the 2010 AMA roster.
I'd also like to thank everyone that attended the meeting for your patience while I processed your renewals.
The following is a general report as to the content of the meeting:
Board Chairman Ken Moore called the meeting to order a little after 7:00 pm. He reported that the flying season of 2009 was quite successful and had relatively few but minor incidence. We hope that safety is on everyone's mind while at the field.
An addition to the shelter was discussed and will be looked into.
Field conditions currently are snowy but the field last year was in pretty good shape and should continue this year.
The need for a new wind sock was discussed and purchase of one was approved by the body. Approximate cost, $35.
An election was held for 2 new "Board Members" was held with Dennis Smith, Ray Marsh, Stan Zupan and Dave Canfield running. Dennis Smith and Dave Canfield were elected to a 3 year term.
Other issues discussed were a drop curtain wind barrier on the shelter and the need for a safety barrier.
Also, the establishment of an assembly area, starting area and flight line were discussed. That issue will be addressed by the "Board" and Field Marshall (Mark Tillison).
Jerry McNutt gave a financial report which detailed the years income and expenses and stated that we are solvent.
Ken Moore delivered an IMAC report and the possibility of hosting that event this year. He also mentioned that The Tiffin R/C Club has offered the use of their field to any of our members wanting to fly during that week-end. That event should be about Aug. 21 & 22.
George Matthews pitched a one day event for helicopter flyers. To this point, there seems to be no opposition to that event.
Also discussed was the possible need to change the "By-Laws" to accommodate the "Board of Directors"
No one brought (disappointedly) a "Show & Tell" aircraft, so the meeting was adjorned at 8:20 pm.
